Collection Date: March 21, 2004

County or City: King
State or Province: WA
Country: USA

Collector's Notes: Collected in a landscape setting. They ranged in size from 1/2 inch to over 5 inches. They are found in a bed with vine maples, red osier dogwoods and shasta daisies. The soil and the plants were introduced in 1999. I believe these mushrooms have been appearing for several years. Also: I have put coffee grounds and cardboard to keep the weeds down and layered that with wood chips from blackberry, willow and madrone. Weather: This year has been a normal one, with enough rain. . . .The spring here has been warm, with some days reaching 80 degrees and cool nights in the high 30's.

Note: This collection has been identified as Morchella importuna, and is cited in Kuo et al., 2012.
