MDCP Record for 05040301 Collection Date: May 04, 2003 County or City: Westmoreland Collector's Notes: Tulip Morel (yellow colored). This morel is different looking than the standard yellows that grow under apple and elm trees. It never gets wide or large. I only find this morel under tulip poplar here in PA. Trees: Only tulip poplar--the trees are giant and would take 2 people to put their hands around them. Shrubs: Spice bush. Plants: Mayapples 1 foot tall, jewelweed. Soil Temperature: 62 degrees.
