False Morel Project Record for 05090601 Collection Date: May 09, 2006 County or City: Emmet Collector's Notes: Cup fungus growing under ash with yellow morels, directly from roots about an inch underground--nearly caespitose with a pair of yellow morels. Apothecium 4 cm across; astipitate; margin a little inrolled. Hymenium glabrous; brown; not wrinkled. Excipular surface whitish-pubescent. Context brown. Odor not distinctive. Ammonia, KOH, and iron salts negative to slightly grayish. Spores in KOH mount smooth; long-elliptical; contents homogeneous; 17-21.5 X 9.5-12 µ.
