False Morel Project Record for 08080504 Collection Date: August 08, 2005 County or City: Dolores Collector's Notes: Gyromitras under dead Engelmann spruce trees, near tree line at about 10,000 feet. Somewhat decayed, but still fairly fresh; fruitbodies typical of gigas complex. Spores primarily multiguttulate with one very large central oil droplet and several smaller droplets variously disposed; occasionally with a second large droplet. Spores primarily without apiculi, but a few with very blunt pairs of apiculi (these spores all outside of asci). 30-36 x 13-16 µ without apiculi; elliptical or nearly fusiform; apiculi when present 1-3 µ long.
