False Morel Project Record for 02230503 Collection Date: February 23, 2005 County or City: Plumas Collector's Notes: Gyromitra infula. This area is at 2200 feet. The area consisted of Fir, Pine, Manzanita, Tan Oak (?) and Madrone. The area was cleared of all brush as an experiment of the forest service. I was dismayed when I first saw it because it looked as if it had been clear cut. But when I returned to find it was burned, I was filled with joy! The only place I am currently finding anything is in burns. Burns are always a great place to find life. Thank you forest service!
